Food for Thought: Question 1

So as technology becomes more and more a part of our lives.  And those of us who truly know how to use technology to make our lives so simple, I have a very good question to ask.

Would you rather lose the use of all motorized vehicles, all telecommunication devices and computers, or one of your hands?

Motorized vehicles are becoming computer enhanced to start by themselves, warm your ass, and finally include that all important map for men to find their way around, since they don’t like to ask for directions. I often hear some people complaint about how they don’t like cars becoming more like computers with a hard drive in them.  Because some of you may have experience where your car stopped in the middle of the street and caused an accident.  And what is the first excuse that you should use?  It is the manufacture fault!! But why can’t it be the driver’s fault since he or she probably did not completely read the car manual to know how to work the car and use the car to its fullest.  Dealers only gives you clip notes about the car to sale it. I love it when a non-tech savvy person purchase a new technology car and then get mad at the technology.  So not the car’s fault people!!

With a show of hand, how many of you can go a day without using your smart phone?  Millions of y’all cannot go 5 minutes.   Some of y’all are even like me and sleep with your cell phone and\or tablet or laptop in the bed with you, right?  Yeah, I am woman enough to admit that and would often prefer them than a man in the bed with me.   Oops!

I remember the telephone being a much bigger device that sat on the table somewhere in the corner of the living room or on the wall in the kitchen.  Standing there with the receiver in one hand and your other hand on your hip with an expression on your face as you ask the question “Why wasn’t Bobby Jo smart enough to figure that out?” Or “Where in the hell is Marsha?”

If you really think about it, the game Operation was your computer back then, and today we have the Kindle.  Okay that is my new game board that I can carry in my purse.  All 35 games for now, to entertainment me even when I am on a boring date.
Because of telecommunication devices and computers, some of y’all do not know how to leave work at work!  Some of you husbands need to explain to your wife that your job is your mistress.  And you are really having a hard time breaking up with the laptop because she does not know how to accept “no” for an answer.  Advice: stop giving her input.

But to lose a left or right hand, then how will I wash the dishes?  I would need to find a new way to put my cousins in a head lock.  You know some people use both hands to get off, I cannot image how will work out.

So to answer the question that I asked, I would pick motorized vehicles because I need my hands to order Uber on my telecommunication device.

Until next time.

Time has flown!!

Hello old friends,

Long time, long hear from me.  I have yet to express Happy New Year to many of you and I am sure that some of you are like me in saying "I am so glad that 2017 is over with, however, when did 2018 get here?" Better yet, when is Trump getting his ass out of the White House? I can hear Auntie Do saying "You Late!" (Sidebar: we will be talking about that expression later.)

How have you been? I hope that everyone has been doing well and keeping their spirits high despite all the things that may or may be happening in one's life.  I know that it has been a while and since the end of July, I believe. Things have been extremely busy for me both personal and professional.

  • My best friend Glenna passed away at the end of July.  I was more shock about the family secret then I was about her death.
  • I got a new job on the day of Glenna's death. There was drama with that job and I had to give it to the Lord.
  • I had to be extremely honest with my next door neighbor and his lack of skills.
  • My mother moved in with me and I cannot even begin the describe the immense amount of emotions that came from me towards.
  • My so-called Uncle Keith was supposed to relocate to Texas as well with my mother. However, some new development of things had emerged and I am just left dumbfounded.
  • Had to move from where I have been living for a year to where my Aunt Do and Uncle Jeff was living in Garland. This is going to take a series of posting to even describe the begin of living with them.
  • Left one job to go to a better paying job.  The new job is the blessing from the previous job.
  • My new traveling route is quite interesting with the express buses and the TRE.

I know that we are only 3 months into 2018 but I am really having a hard time getting into this year because of Trump and his flip floppin' ass.

Well, I have some much to share with you guys on my blog that I can not wait. But first I need Aunt Do to explain to me why I am late and what is it that I am supposed to be late for.  That seems to be her favorite phrase besides "you'll figure it out." What is there to figure out if I am the research queen.

The Tudors: The First 2 Seasons

Y’all I am about to be so real in this piece because I watched Seasons 1 and 2 of The Tudors!  If I had no angry issues before watching the two seasons this show gave me additional issues that I did not need. Caused me to roll my neck, cut my eyes at the characters and finished 4 bottles of wine. Plus, I had to hide the baseball bat that I was saving for #NetflixSaveDracula movement. Because I was ready to go to town on this show!

Let me first give an applause for the well-done performances in causing me to want to town on y’all ass. Well-done and outstanding job to the writers!  After watching the first 2 seasons I did not think that I could have watched this showed while it was being aired on ShowTime while I was pursuing my bachelor.  I would have failed some of my classes trying to figure out what the hell happen? The first 2 season left me with a few questions and a whole lot of drama that would make me kill King Henry VIII (played by my friend Johnathan Rhys Meyers).

For example, what happen to first baby boy that was produced, yes, I said produced, by your heirness what is his name’s wife in the first season? (Do not correct me on this because I seriously did not catch his name when the King Henry and the mistress said it in bed.) It was made clear to what happen to the baby boy that Queen Katherine carried but what happen with this one?

What happen to the long-haired musician genius from the church and his wife? We know that his wife went somewhat crazy after her sister died. I was surprised to see this dude Mark Sweeten pop into the picture. Who knew Anne’s brother went that way!! (The shade of it all!)

How in the hell did King Henry’s sister, Princess Margaret Tudor (played by Gabrielle Anwar) got sick? Wait, Charles why were you fucking around with the sister anyway? He must have had tiny balls at that time but grew bigger balls when he went up against Sir Thomas Boleyn punk ass! Real talk: Charles (Henry Cavill’s character) needed his ass kick for fucking around on his wife while she was sick! He should have taken up golfing! And his second young wife should have taught him how to play stick really fast when he cheated on her with the niece of France!! Niece of France my ass; I would have jousted his ass across England!

Cardinal Thomas Wolsey (played by Sam Neil) gave me justification as to why I don’t attended church today. (Crocked motherfuckers!!)  Though you have got to give it to Wolsey, he was smart enough in how he got things done for the King. For a Cardinal, it was fuck everybody else it is about the King. Including the Pope. WOW! His ending was sad but not too much.

Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk (played by Henry Czerny) – they did that during that time. Keep count of how many Dukes occupied a villa\castle like Norfolk?  Really? Where in the hell did his ass disappeared to in the first season?  I mean he was smart enough to leave before that shit hit the fan, so hey.

I can really appreciate a man like Sir Thomas More (played by Jeremy Northam) because he stood his ground about the sanctuary of marriage.  I don’t think would want that on my conscience either but then again, I did cheat on husband, so oh well. I was happy to see that King Henry regretted that whole outcome that took place between him and Sir More.  I was waiting for Sir More’s ghost to pick that cross that he gave to the King as a Christmas present, and beat his ass with.

With Sir Thomas Boleyn (played by Nick Dunning), y’all let his punk ass off easy!! Look, look here! He did more dirt than his daughter and then played the high and mighty dummy for real. If my father told me to let my husband have his mistresses, I would have filed for diplomatic immunity with France. ASAP!! Because the action that would have followed ladies and gentlemen. . . (singing the song: Murder she wrote! La la la. Murder she wrote!)

Let’s talk about Anne’s ass (played by Natalie Dormer) for a minute!! Y’all, I did so much cussing in Season 2, I was ready to throw my laptop across the room! I have not done this much cussing since I read Shakespeare’ King Richard III. The original crocked motherfucker right there! How in the hell can you kill your older brother and turn around fuck his widow at your brother’s funeral? Really? In Shakespeare’s world, are we sure that Anne was not a niece of Richard III? Because I think that is how she got her fucking skills, she did not learn them from Daddy Boleyn and Uncle Howard!! I cannot see how that was possible?! Take for example innocent Elizabeth. Mommy and daddy have dark hair.  Daddy’s skin is darker and Elizabeth’s skin is much fairer than her mother’s. And I am giving the side-eye to Jamie Thomas King’s character.  I am just saying that Anne had some skilled and you draw your own conclusion on that one.

Queen Katherine of Aragon (Maria Doyle Kennedy), I was really rooting for she because she been had on castle block longer and she was entitled to everything.  I love the fact that the Queen stood her ground about who she was and what she wasn’t going to be.  I did cry when she passed away! And I was ready to whoop the King’s ass for not letting Mary see her mother in 4 years. No let me take that back, I need to see sir Thomas Boleyn punk ass for telling Mary that she was forbidden to see her mother and I was wondering did the King really allowed this? That probably goes to that some intelligence that I am about to mention.

But see, if I was Queen Katherine, I would had taken Anne to the side when she showed her ass the first time, let Anne’s ass know that my army verse your NO army little girl.  Put Anne in her place from the beginning. King Henry was smart to keep Queen Katerina in England because he knew if Queen Kat went back to Spain his ass would have been grass. I was amazed that despite all the pussy he was getting, he still had some intelligence to understand that fact. (Some intelligence.)  But at the same time, again if I was Queen Katherine, I would had gone the fuck upside King Henry’s head with one of the many heavy crosses that they had sitting around in the castle.  And how in the hell did King Henry get sprung by Anne when his revolving door for forever in session? (In my opinion, that is the only thing that Anne did right! She tamed his ass!)

And if I was Queen Katherine, I would have had me some sistas in my corner, I don’t mean her sisters from mom and dad (please pay attention to the spelling!) We would have hot rodded a few carts and ran over the King’s count. We would have slacked around and body slammed a few of the King’s guards and if King Henry did not know what S & M was, we would have educated his ass real fast!

So here is where we are standing at the end of Season 2 of The Tudors: Anne got her well deserve karma and there is a saying that applies here for her: how you got him is how you will lose him. Another saying: you will rise quick but you will fall-down faster. Her brother got his karma for the way he treated his wife. Talk about the closet for real and R. Kelly would have told him to stay there! Poor Elizabeth but hooray for Mary because besides her mother, Mary was still respected by the English people, majority the King’s court, all the kings from other countries like France with the marriage offer to Mary and not Elizabeth, and from her own father. (Season 2, I think episode 7 or 8, King Henry is leaving after visiting Elizabeth, he sees Mary on the balcony and he bows to Mary.)

And King Henry VIII!! From watching all the sex from seasons 1 and 2 that I decided to go on a fucking hiatus! (JRM, this is a compliment. . .you know you need your ass whooped for such a kick-ass performance! Did I not express to you that I do not do emotions? We had this conversation before. WTF?? No that is not right. What the banana & cream? Nope that is not right either. Fuck it. We had this conversation!!!)

I do apologize for cussing so much in this piece but look at it this way: I did not have to wait until that time of the month to let my angry out!  Hell! Let’s see what happens in seasons 3 and 4.

Until next time!

Huang Shi's Children

I don’t know if I had told any of you that I have a thing for watching time pieces that are done during certain time in our history whether they are done in movies or as television shows. And what I mean by that is shows like The Tudors and movies like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Pride & Prejudice. I am in love with the cinematography of how a certain era can become a beauty piece of art. So, the movie that I am about to talk about, The Children of Huang Shi.

It is starring my favorite boyfriend, Johnathan Rhys Meyers; the man that I will put JRM on the shelf for Chow Yun Fat; my sister who can put a woopin’ on anybody including Chow Yun Fat and Donnie Yen, Michelle Yeoh, and a new comer to me Radha Mitchell.

This movie is center during the Second Sino-Japanese War which from 1937-1945, however, the story take place towards the end of the war. So, allow me to take this movie apart, and let’s start with the war itself.

I had known about the Japan invading China from history text books in high school. (Side bar: boys were including as my subjects to learn about.)  Even with years later I watched the movie “The Last Emperor of China” about Henry Pu Yi, I did recognize nor understand that this event was during the Second Sino-Japanese War.  So, as I was watching The Children of Huang Shi, I was asking myself “Why did Japan invade China?”  The answer that I found was that Japan colonies were on the path to achieving great power status per the 2nd World War and the Japanese wanted more colonies so they attacked China.

Now that is the shortest answer that I can give to y’all because the very long answer would have involved the history and structure of the Japanese monarchy that was already divided highly into semi-independent kingdom’s and they united by the persona of the Emperor. And there was some shogun leadership stuff somewhere up in all that structure.  Trust me, it was a very long answer to why Japan invaded China.

So, let me now move on to the story of The Children of Huang Shi; and even if you are not a fan of JRM or Chow Young Fat, watch the movie for the story and the inspiration of it. And as I was watching this movie, I started to think about another story that resembles bit and pieces from this movie. On the website Viki.com there is a television show name Inspiring Generation which starts Kim Hyun-Joong, Kim Sung-Oh and Lim Soo-Hyang, is also centered around the Second Sino-Japanese War. What was interesting about this television show was that it was told from the Koreans side and their battle with the Japanese for territory in Shanghai.  I do recommend that you watch the television show for a different perspective of the Sino-Japanese War and it does come with English subtitles.

Let me move on, it is a heart touching story however there was a scene that I was like “Hell naw!” where JRM’s was scared shitless. There was some scene I was like “Nnnooo!” with a few tears for a few of the characters and then there was a scene or two where I was like “Really JRM, really?” “Didn’t you get laid enough in The Tudors?” (I just finished watching season 1 and 2! That Anne has cause me to do so much cussing y’all! I am going to talk about her ass later!!)

Back to the story, I really don’t know how to explain it but to be put in a situation where you need to show that not all foreigners are devils and built a trusting relationship with young boys must be hard in such violent environments. War is traumatizing for anyone who has lived through it and to find friendship and trust in the mist of war is a bright light in total darkness.  The strength and loyalty that was found in this story was beautiful. The thought of not having Chow Yun Fat in a movie where he is not kicking nobody ass was a little disappointing however the fact that he was able to blow up buildings did give me some comfort.

The main character of the movie was Mr. George A. Hogg (played by JRM), an Oxford scholar who became a journalist and was able to get behind the Japanese line to witness what was going on in China.  The characters of Chow Yun Fat and Radha Mitchell put George in a position where he was not in any option to say “no” because they just saved his ass twice and it was done in order to save his (Hogg’s) life a little longer. Why? Because them two were a part of the Chinese rebellious, the Chinese Gung Ho Movement, and they thought that Mr. Hogg’s education could be of some use to them. Michelle Yeoh’s character was the supporter of Mr. Hogg.  Again, I was disappointed in not seeing Michelle kicking somebody ass! But what did strike me was how her character put herself on the line for him (Hogg) to save those boys.

In my research to learn more about Mr. Hogg, I learned more about the journey in which he did with the 60 boys going across the snowed covered mountains to Lanzhow.  I would have like to have known if all 60 boys made it across to the Gansu Province because according to the movie there were only two boys lost. And I understand the four boys that he adapted lived long fruitful lives because of him.

It was sad in both the movie and in doing some research about George A. Hogg that he died one month before the war ended. He was 30 years old. What is lovely that even today, all of Mr. Hogg’s efforts are still recognizes in history in both England and China, with there being a museum and a monument in the Gansu Province thanks to a gentleman named Alley. Alley who befriend Hogg while living in China and with Alley’s help, Hogg was able to make that huge move and get those boys to a safer environment. Alley himself was a part of the Communist Party of China and a key figure in establishing the Chinese Industrial Cooperatives. And stayed somewhat active in the Chinese political rim until his death in 1987. Something that the movie did not share to the viewers.

Overall, The Children of Huang Shi was a beauty story.  And it is story of self-sacrifice and putting others before you. Knowing that your love ones and strangers are safe can be rewarding itself.

My DramaFever Complaint

As a consumer, we like to receive exactly what it is we paid for, right?  Especially when it comes to having subscriptions to magazines or online media that are paid for either in advance for a year or whatever time that we choose to purchase.  And when our subscription goes wrong, you know that you take on a whole other attitude, right?

So here is my example of my attitude one beautiful day:

Okay, okay. . .so if you don't know, I am a huge Korean soap opera watcher!! I pay for a monthly membership on DramaFever. To watch it by either by my Kindle fire, desktop, laptop and/or tablet. I have got to have it more than me having to buy shoes. (Side bar: I am simply not a shopper that! When I see it then I will buy it!)

So, one day I came home from work and while I am settling down, of course, I do what most of us do, turn the news to see what happen today and what the weather will be like the next day.  Follow by Access Hollywood and depending on what day of the week it is most of us will turn the channel to find our favorite program. Look here, if “The Bang Theory” or “Empire” is not showing than there is no need to keep the television on.

Alright, so I turned on my desktop, got the Google chrome going, got DramaFever on the screen and now I am waiting for “The Return of Superman” to give the latest episode. (Sidebar: this Superman does not involve Clark Kent but little kids being bad at their cuteness!) I am 10 minutes into the show when a commercial comes on. I was like the what the Lee Mi Yoo is happening? I just knew that I had already paid my subscription and the next payment was not due for another week.

So, like any other angry consumer, what do you do? You either write or call to give them your complain, right?  Well, an angry me wrote a comment to whom it may concern and mine went like this to DramaFever:

“I paid for my monthly subscription last month and I know that I have a week or two left before that next paid is due.  But today (5/2/2017) I am seeing commercials when I shouldn't.  What in the Kim Joon Young is going on?  Yes, today I had to again select my plan and I will be making sure that y'all are taking my payments.  Please do not make me pull a T.O.P. on y'all billing department. NO MORE COMMERICALS!! when y'all have a payment.”

I was filled with emotions when I wrote it. COMMERCIALS!! The nerd of them!

But y’all after I got the auto reply that you get went send them a comment on their website and it goes to your email and I read it for myself. I was like they are going to think that I am fell off my damn rocking chair. I had to laugh at my own damn self! I can only image what they were thinking as they were reading my comment to them.  “This crazy lady here!!”

I am so grateful that DramaFever responded back in a timely matter with an answer to why I got commercials.  It was time to pay again. I really do need to pay more attention about how I balanced my check book when it comes to paying for online subscriptions.

Bottom line if that I really should catch myself before writing or calling with a complain. Except with Spectrum Cable, I really need to go upside their damn heads with some customer service acknowledge.

The Istanbul Chronicles: Moving Stuff

Here is another one of Glenna and I adventures.

When Glenna and I were getting to know each other, I knew that she lived in an area call Maltepe. To be actual she lived on Methap Sok., Mercan #7  Apt. 4, Adatepe.   It was quite some ways from me being 45 minutes by a mini-bus (I live those things).  I had often visited her at her at her apartment as she had often visited our apartment, especially for coffee.

In Glenna's apartment, she had a lot of nice big real wood furniture that I would have loved to own and I am still mad to this day that we were not able to remove majority them away from Edward.

While she was there in their apartment, Glenna by herself was trying to move those pieces around because of how big furniture was they were not moving for her. (Glenna is a tiny woman, I tell you.) She said she had been asking Edward to get some help in moving some of the furniture down stair into the storage assigned storage unit.  But talking to Edward was like talking to shit on the wall! (Y'all I am telling you, when it came Glenna, Edward did not want to do damn a thing for her. And if I have not spoken about Edward, just wait that story is coming.)

Anyways, Glenna asked if I could come over and help her move some furniture, and if I could Nick and the ex-husband could come to help also. Well, my ex claimed that he had something to do, which meant that Nick and I would go over to help. (Sidebar: I loved going to Glenna's place in Adatepe because the mini-bus ride was about 30 minutes and the driver always drove like a bat out of hell on a grill.  You would have thought that you on a roll coaster ride.)

So, there it was Glenna, me and Nick, us three moving about, let's see, there was a huge German style china cabinet that mostly me carrying while Glenna and Nick pushed into the depot in the basement. A table that sat 8 people that were heavy as hell, which Glenna left in the apartment. There were 2 more cabinets that were moved into the depot and about 12 or more boxes. I am sure that there were other things that I can not remember that the three of us moved.

The objective was to move most of the furniture in the basement. Though it took us four hours to do it but it was done for Glenna to be able to move around in the apartment.

Nick and I had to have left around 6 - 6:30 p.m., and soon after that Edward came home. He notices how empty the apartment was and asked Glenna happen to the furniture that was in the apartment. Glenna told him that she had it moved to the storage in the basement.  He asked Glenna who did she get to help her moved the furniture and she replied, "Victoria and her son Nick helped me."  Edward was like "That is no way that Victoria and her son plus you could have moved anything in the basement!" And Glenna replied, "You don't know how strong Victoria is."

So a few more words went back and forward between and the conversation about the furniture ended. So some time had went before Edward saw the kapıcı (the janitor) and thanked him for helping his wife moved some furniture in the storage in the basement.  The kapici said "I don't know what you are talking about, but I did not help anyone moved anything lately." "So you did not help my wife in apartment 4?" said Edward.  "Don't know what you are talking about!" was the last responds from the kapici.

It was a few weeks later when Glenna told me about the conversation that Edward had with the kapici and every since then, Glenna will remain Edward of how strong I am. She used that as her leverage whenever Edward said something weak about her. But every since then Edward has kept that eye on me like "I am watching you lady!" look.

There are more stories to come. . . .

What a Sweet Talker?

Now I have a next door neighbor who since moving to Dallas has shown interest in me. Not a bad looking man.  He is hard working man and I hardly get to see because he take pleasure in working more than 40 hours a week.

However, as he has express his interest in me over and over, and I am thinking that he has no ideal what kind of trouble he is asking for.  And I am really working hard to involved any trouble with my neighbor.

But one day I get this text started off like this:

Me: Good morning, calling to make sure that you sleeping good, okay?

NDN: Think omg about your mouth want something to put? (I know that some you got the message here, right?)

Me: Is that English?

NDN: I've been dringing. (No lie, that is how he spelled it.)

Me: Is that what I am to you, your toy when you need it?

NDN: No

Me: Okay then, good afternoon. For it to be 78 degrees, it is hot as hell!

NDN: You coming over or what? (I am so NOT horny for this man!!)

Me: No (Let me not even play with him)

So 5 minutes he shows up at door saying "I came over here to see what the problem was!" I figured that.

Me: C'mon in and have a sit neighbor, sorry but I am making me a cheeseburger. Excuse me for a second.

NDN: Oh yeah! It does sound good in here. But go ahead and help yourself.  So what is going on with you?

Me: Were you trying to sweet talk me to come and get in bed with you?

NDN: Yeah, I was trying.

Me: Yeah, sorry to say but your sweet talking really kill it for me! Turned me way the fuck off!

Now I did explained to that upon him being away for 10 years and coming out into a new world, that the dating scene has dramatically change.  That first of all some of us, not just women but men too, are scared to date in these times. (There are a lot of crazy people out there with drama that most of us do not want and will not tolerate!)  I also explained to him that today's woman understands that she can have it all and have fun with batteries instead of being bother with a man in her life. And that he should learn how to finesse today's woman with his words.

The rest of our conversation moved on to sports and others topics.

(To Be Continue. . . )

Is it Jealousy or What?

I so need to vent and usually when I vent I often go to one of my friends, however, what I need to vent about, I am sure that maybe one or ...
