My Turkish Lentil Soup

Around the end of February, I go seriously sick with a server respiratory infection and an acute sinus infection. While I was dropping off my prescription from the doctor and waiting for it to be filled at Walmart, I thought I do a little shopping.  Lately, I have been wanting some Turkish lentil soup so I went ahead and purchased the ingredients and a small crock pot. Which I did not get around to using because it is 2 quarts. So I need to find recipes for 2 quarts crock pots.

The ingredients being:
1 lb. of green lentils, pre-soak the beans or else the beans will take forever to cook

1 red onion, diced

½ lb. of minced lamb, though this can be optional to not use or you can use ground beef if you cannot find mince lamb

4 tablespoons of butter

1 tablespoon of minced garlic

1 beef bouillon cubes

Salt and pepper for taste

4 cups of water

In a 4 quarts’ pot over a medium fire, take 1 tablespoon of butter to sauté  and stir the diced red onion and garlic for a few minutes. Then add in the minced lamb until it is cooked well.

Next added the lentil beans and stir well before adding in the water.  Stir well before adding the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter and the 1 beef bouillon cubes.

Let it simmer on a low fire for about an hour.

Add salt and pepper for taste. if you want

Now after I did all this to fix this soup, as I reading online I realized that recipe that I did could have been wrong, however, since I learned how to make this soup from my ex-mother-in-law, then I made it right.

Because I dare not question her recipe!
