My Turkish Lentil Soup

Around the end of February, I go seriously sick with a server respiratory infection and an acute sinus infection. While I was dropping off my prescription from the doctor and waiting for it to be filled at Walmart, I thought I do a little shopping.  Lately, I have been wanting some Turkish lentil soup so I went ahead and purchased the ingredients and a small crock pot. Which I did not get around to using because it is 2 quarts. So I need to find recipes for 2 quarts crock pots.

The ingredients being:
1 lb. of green lentils, pre-soak the beans or else the beans will take forever to cook

1 red onion, diced

½ lb. of minced lamb, though this can be optional to not use or you can use ground beef if you cannot find mince lamb

4 tablespoons of butter

1 tablespoon of minced garlic

1 beef bouillon cubes

Salt and pepper for taste

4 cups of water

In a 4 quarts’ pot over a medium fire, take 1 tablespoon of butter to sauté  and stir the diced red onion and garlic for a few minutes. Then add in the minced lamb until it is cooked well.

Next added the lentil beans and stir well before adding in the water.  Stir well before adding the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter and the 1 beef bouillon cubes.

Let it simmer on a low fire for about an hour.

Add salt and pepper for taste. if you want

Now after I did all this to fix this soup, as I reading online I realized that recipe that I did could have been wrong, however, since I learned how to make this soup from my ex-mother-in-law, then I made it right.

Because I dare not question her recipe!

Breaking the Cycle!

As a parent we always want the best for our child(ren)., and we start with educating them on things that we think that would be best for them to know as they grow up.  I was still a teenager when I became pregnant with my only child, Nicolas.  Did I wanted a child at that time?  No I didn't and it was my mother who said to keep him and that she would help me raise him.  My mother was also a teenage parent starting with me and a year later came my one of two brothers.  Now you are probably thinking that my mother why didn't she teach me not to become a teenage parent?   I am assuming that and I was right, that she did not know how.  She wanted to do my best with my life but she did not know to explain to me how to go about living life.  Growing up with 3 younger siblings I saw the struggles that my mother went through, and in my head I knew that I was not willing to do some of things that she.  I knew in my head that if I was ...

A Criticizism Impact

Ladies ad gentleman I got email from some body in Austin, Texas who read my blog. (Excited my fan email!) I wish I could copy and paste his/she email but due to Internet Privacy Act, so I will not.  Therefore I will talk about that person in a different more uplifting way.  Basically this person said I was stupid, don't know what the hell I am talking about and that my man should have a tighter lease on me. Hhhhmmm! (I got a smile face!)  Now I know how many of you would answer this however I took the very high and mighty road on this one.  My Reply was simply this: Thank you for your words and had you word your email differently than I would have taken your words into consideration.  I am not saying you should kiss my butt because I do not think you can do a good of it; it was because it was not objective.  I will still thank you for your positiveness that came from your negative criticism.  And I look forward to hearing from you again. ...

Coming this Month in September!

Lord have mercy, we are in another month for the year 2015.  If some of y'all like me and you saying this year is flying by . . .for some of us this a good while for others it may not. For a lot of parents this is a good thing because it is the start of another school for their children who are going back to school or have already started school.  Who is doing the dance of joy on this one?  If you don't have little ones still at home, this means peace and quiet for you at home until 3 p.m. For other parents it means fewer less children. ( Geçmiş olsun!)  But it also brings all the after school programs, those parent-teacher conferences that many parents dread, and those Fridays' night games. For all you new college students, for the first month you will be stupid to things but after that you will be okay.  For all you second year students who did not learn anything in your first year, then consider yourself still stupid!  For you third ye...
